Sonia Barron – Luna Fest
Born in Tijuana B.C., Mexico Sonia Barron has always identified with her Mexican roots. Growing up in San Jose, Sonia has always recalled being surrounded by arts and culture her entire life. Not only does Sonia have multiple degrees (art, education, and restaurant management), but she has also worked as a pastry chef and has had a successful catering business for over 20 years.
Now working as an educator, Sonia works with middle school students, offering them opportunities to create and express themselves through art. She has also been a proud member of the Luna Park Art Foundation for over a decade. Not only does Sonia help plan and coordinate events, but she has also been a featured artist during the Chalk Art Festival and has participated as an artist for the last 15 years. Sonia has a wide range of artistic mediums, her current favorites are chalk, oil paint, and most recently, creating sculptures out of recycled material. Sonia lives and works in San Jose.
